BONFIRE, BARBEQUE AND BAND
FUN WAS HAD BY ALL AT OUR FIRST COMMUNITY PARTY
On one of those quirky "summer-like" early spring evenings, between 75 and 100 folks of all ages gathered around the fire pit or relaxed in the sanctuary, muching on hot dogs or hamburgers, roasted marshmallows, and soda, chatting, laughing or listening to the rock sounds of our local high school band Tone Altar.
The guys brought friends, parents and community and although only our youngest attendees danced in the asiles there was a Spirit of Freedom blowing through the church. Several times the young men asked if we really understood that they would be playing secular songs. Didn't we want Christian music.

Our desire was truly to have a party - not an evangelism campaign, not a recruitment drive. Simply an opportunity for our neighbors to get together for fun and fellowship. Our greatest delight was having so many high school young people present. It seemed like this could be a great event to provide a gathering place for these and other young people from North Posey. So....
The Membership Board will be meeting to plan the next Community Party.
